Broder’s Pasta Bar

It’s become a bit of a tradition that when my husband or I pick up my Mom at the airport, we stop at Broder’s Pasta Bar at 50th & Penn for dinner on the way home.  I’ve yet to have a bad meal there, though it’s one of the few places where I rarely stray from my favorite.  But it’s my favorite for good reason!


My choice, 99% of the time, is “18. tagliarini di Locanda del Lupo housemade pasta with prosciutto di Parma, truffle pesto & cream ~ the house specialty of Locanda del Lupo in Soragna, Italy.”  The photo comes nowhere near doing it justice, but it’s the best I could get before I devoured the plate of happiness.

After dinner, Mom had a cup of coffee and we shared a plate of profiteroles.  The chocolate sauce is outstanding and I was tempted to lick the platter, but that would be rude.  They are a nice size after a heavy pasta dinner.

I really think that Broder’s is a great deal.  It’s four star food at two star prices.  But get there early or be prepared to wait, it’s a popular spot.  You can also call ahead and put your name on the list, though I”m not always sure that makes much difference.  The wait may be long, but it will be worth it!
